Support Horizons and Make a Difference

You can be a HERO!

TEN Reasons Why You Should Support Horizons

  1. We have a proven track record of success - 26 years and counting!
  2. We build long-term relationships with our scholars and their families - Pre-K through 12th grade.
  3. We provide year-round support - Summer Learning Program & High School Leadership Program
  4. Our summer program is hosted by the Kent School, Gunston School, and Washington College and offers an abundance of resources and inspiration for our scholars.
  5. We provide "Let's Talk" character education and leadership training to encourage our scholars to live their best life.
  6. We offer a 1-to-5 staff-to-student ratio to maximize learning.
  7. Every child in our program learns to swim, visits interesting places, and enjoys wellness activities to instill the importance of self-care and balance.
  8. Our program is tuition-free and is supported by caring people like YOU!
  9. Changes to Charitable Giving Tax Deductions included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, & Economic Security (CARES) Act will allow taxpayers who do not itemize to now deduct up to $300 on their tax return. People who make larger gifts will be able to deduct a much higher amount. An individual will be able to make a gift cash and deduct it up to 100 percent of their adjusted gross income for the year 2020. This provision could allow a person to make charitable gifts that eliminate his or her tax burden. Contact your tax advisor for more information.
  10. The Horizons program works!
  • Students gain 8 to 12 weeks of achievement in math and reading each summer
  • 97% of Horizons students graduate high school
  • 91% of our high school graduates go on to college or other post-secondary education
